Day 1: Praying for Families hurting due to family conflicts

 Family conflict is a regular visitor to every home. The enemy brought conflict between the first couple of the Bible and he continues to do so even today. People continue to blame each other and hurt each other.

Many marriages break down due to issues that can easily be resolved, but ego and pride come in the way of conflict resolution. Hurt people hurt others, this is the chain reaction in all conflict. A conflict between a couple moves on to affect their parents and in-laws and moves on to hurt their children and other relatives.

Help and deliverance is easy if they humble themselves and pray. Pray specifically for pride and ego to be broken down in couples, that they will be willing to submit to one another and that God may deliver them. God will answer diligent prayer for Families as Families are His delight!

LET’S PRAY FOR 

  • Couples whose life Satan has been rampaging with conflicts, mention them by name and pray for them.
  • Pride and Ego to be broken down for restoration of relationships.

Day 2: Praying for Families hurting due to lack of finances and debts

 Money plays a major part in a marriage relationship. Lack of money and greed for money has disrupted many family relationships. Farmers committing suicides due to debt is a well-known issue. Many have gotten into debts because of several reasons. Sometimes their greed and love for money have got them into trouble.

Many Families are unable to attend to basic health needs due to financial struggles. There are some other families who have taken on so many loans through credit cards and are struggling to pay up the dues. Pray for them to clear their loans and that they will not have a need to borrow again.

Our God is Jehovah Jireh. He is our provider and sustainer. May Families find favor in His eyes and let the needs of that family be met.

LET’S PRAY FOR

  • Any family going through financial issues or struggling due to debts, bring them to the throne of the Lord.
  • God’s discernment to properly handle our wealth and resources.

Day 3: Praying for Families struggling with sickness and ill health

Adversity comes in the form of sickness and ill health. Cancer has become quite common and many homes are affected by it. People struggle with all kinds of illnesses and it has affected their family life. Only the ones who are going through it know the devastation caused by their painful situation. Some on their sick beds are literally counting their days. I am sure there are some people the Lord has brought to your memory who are suffering due to illnesses.

As the four friends brought the paralyzed man to Jesus, let us bring them in faith, trusting the God who called us to “Come” and “Cast” our anxiety on Him. Let’s trust in the God of miracles!

Let’s pray, trusting the ability of the One we are praying to, and above all for His Will to be done in the life of that person!

LET’S PRAY FOR

  • People the Lord has brought to mind who are suffering due to illnesses.
  • People with a terminal illness, that they might come to the knowledge of Jesus.
  • The families of the sick, who need added strength and wisdom at this time.

Day 4: Praying for Families that are hurting due to wrong Ideologies

Satan separates Families by making one spouse subscribe to a different ideology than the other, which has caused much division in Families. Today we see all kinds of teachings and beliefs taught by many new age gurus. Many people blindly follow them.

Wrong teachings to keep people in their control with promises for a better life and a better future has blinded needy and desperate Families.

Many are sincere but unfortunately, they are sincerely wrong. Some have married people from another faith and have been struggling because they are unable to practice their Christian faith and have constant conflicts because of faith issues. These differences in the belief system and ideology have devastated many Families.

Pray that in such situations more of Christ would be demonstrated and more grace would be given to go through the situation. Only God can provide a miraculous breakthrough in such marriages!

LET’S PRAY FOR

  • Families whom the enemy has blinded with false teachings and ideologies.
  • People who are struggling because of a difference in their spouse’s belief.

Day 5: Praying for Families that are hurting due to extra-marital affairs

The very first temptation was eating the forbidden fruit at the garden, and a similar temptation is affecting marriages today. Many individuals are unfaithful to their covenantal commitment made to their partners and have secret affairs. Some can be physical or emotional.

Jesus’ standard of adultery is not limited to physical contact. He said that even if we lust after a woman or a man, we have already committed adultery. The devil is cunning and he uses situations, devices, and every little space to make it easy to move out of the covenant of marriage.

Pray that God will guard each one from the attack of the evil one. Let’s pray that each of us will remain faithful to the spouse of our covenant.

Let God restore Families!

Day 6: Praying for Families that are hurting due to poverty

India is a land of abundance and poverty. There is a disproportionate distribution of wealth, leading to some being extremely rich and some so poor that their basic needs are not met. Families and children growing up in slums and in labour camps do not have essentials such as food, clean water, and clothing. We are called to pray and provide for people in need.

The early Church records that there was no one in need among them as they all shared what the Lord gave. While specifically praying for such Families all around us, let us also pray for our hearts to open up for people and Families in need, that we will become an answer to some of their needs by sharing God-given resources.

Above all, the Lord who made all of us in His image supplies our needs according to His love and mercy. May His Church rise up to be caring for the poor among us and outside the Church! Let our heart be moved by the things that move God’s heart. Let us approach our Father who is the God of the poor and needy.

LET’S PRAY FOR

  • Families all around us who struggle for the necessities of life, that we take for granted.
  • For the government and other agencies to act pro-actively to meet their needs.

Day 7: Praying for Families that are hurting due to unemployment

When the breadwinner of the home loses a job, it is painful especially for Families with huge loans and commitments. There are also Families where the husband has been unemployed for years and the wives are struggling to make ends meet.

The Bible talks about the Man as the one to work and take care of the family as God has appointed him as the Head of the home. So, our prayers are needed for all Families who have experienced unemployment, that God would provide them a good job. At the same time, we also need to pray that God would awaken the husbands who have become complacent and lazy by not working to support their own family.

Let’s all pray for people who have been unable to find a suitable job that God would open the right door for them. Unemployment has increased and many graduates are without a job. May our Lord open the right door to all who earnestly seek Him for this need!

LET’S PRAY FOR

  • Employment opportunities for those who are struggling to make ends meet.
  • Complacent and Lazy people to have a change of heart and seek jobs earnestly.
  • The Government to provide employment to job seekers.

Day 8: Praying for Families that are hurting due to over-working and lack of time for family

With the rise of IT companies and call centers, the work timings of people have changed. The timing is more based on the completion of targets and deadlines. This has made people miss out on quality time with their spouse and children, and many children grow up almost as orphans in their own home.

They hardly get to see their parents. The best part of the child’s life is missed out. What a sad reality! that will help Families balance their work and career. Such bondages need to be broken. If you know of Families who need this balance, pray that God would help them prioritize Him and His purposes rather than just the purposes of their companies.

 LET’S PRAY FOR

  • Families who need a proper work-life balance.
  • Families to prioritize their home and children.
  • God to provide suitable jobs that enable people to excel at work and at home!

Day 9: Praying for Families that are struggling due to the separation of family members

Many Families go through grief because of the separation of their loved ones, let’s pray especially for those families who are separated due to war, work and other causes.  Many families have been separated from their children who ran away from home or have been trafficked.

They have no news about their children. They live with a longing, but do not have the privilege to see their loved ones.  Some are also separated because of visa issues and immigration. I have a friend who has not come back to his family for more than 10 years. There are many such Families.

Pray that the Lord will reunite some of the separated families with their loved ones. May His hand work, and may His peace reign! 

LET’S PRAY FOR

  • Families in pain because of separation, pray that God will fill the gap and give the peace that is needed.
  • Unity among families with any kind of separation of members which is causing pain.

Day 10: Praying for Families that are hurting due to a power struggle within the Family

When God created human beings, He created them in an atmosphere of harmony and love. Husband and wife lived in a complementary relationship rather than a competitive relationship. But after the fall, the harmonious relationship becomes disturbed, the harmony was lost. One started controlling and manipulating the other.

This continues even today. Who is in control?  Power struggles between husband and wife have now penetrated into all relationships – between brother and sister, mother in law and daughter in law, father in law and son in law, parents are still controlling their children and grandchildren. Unless each of us surrenders our lives completely to Jesus and live to serve and honor one another by considering others better than ourselves, this will continue.

Let His Spirit give us the grace to humble ourselves and serve others instead of controlling everything. Let Jesus be seen and glorified!

 LET’S PRAY FOR

  • Power struggles within our own home.
  • Us to look within to see if we have been trying to control relationships.

Day 11: Praying for Families that have neglected prayer

A family that prays together stays together. This is an old adage, but very profound. Today the enemy of our souls has given us many distractions to keep us away from praying.

Prayer is a great weapon against the forces of darkness trying to destroy Families. If every Christian family starts praying and seeking, God’s heart would be so delighted. So, let’s pray for God to restore prayer in every home and for God’s presence to fill every home. Spiritual intimacy is only developed by prayers. The Bible reminds us that prayerlessness is sin.

So, let’s pray now for God to restore our own prayer life. Praying intentionally with all kinds of requests is the way forward.

LET’S PRAY FOR

  • God to restore prayer in every home and for God’s presence to fill each home.
  • God to work in all our lives to make us prayerful to fight against all the schemes of the evil one.

Day 12: Praying for Families that are struggling due to balancing God, Family, ministry, and work

A well-balanced family life is only possible when all the God-given roles are taken seriously. Sometimes we only think about our role based on the work we do. My role as the Director of UIM is only one such God-given role. My role as a Father, husband, son, uncle, etc. are also God-given roles and have responsibilities.

One role cannot abandon the other role. Today many have abandoned one role for the other. Time with God is last in the time allotted for everything else, but in the order of priority we put God first and he gets the least amount of time. Similarly, our family gets very less time, but our work gets all the time. This is the reality of many in ministry as well.

So, can we pray for God to restore the balance in all our homes by prioritizing what is important and giving God adequate time, to hear and know Him? We have to give our family adequate time so our spouse and children are not taken for granted. Ordering our lives on the basis of Godly priority is very important. So, let’s pray today for our own orderly balanced life and for all other Families that have lost its priority.

LET’S PRAY FOR

  • God to restore the balance in all our homes by prioritizing what is important.
  • People in ministry, who struggle to balance their roles.

Day 13: Praying for Families that are struggling with old-age issues

With modern medicines and other life support, the average age of people has increased, but it has its own issues. Many of the elderly feel lonely and abandoned. They are unable to survive on their own and are dependent on their children. In the busy schedules of life, Families are unable to give the needed attention.

Old age homes and day care centers for the elderly are on the increase. Many are not excited to live and struggle in loneliness. Health issues related to old age makes it more complicated. So, let’s pray for all who are in their old age to really feel God’s presence in their life guiding and guarding them.

Let’s pray for all who take care of the elderly to be given added grace and that they would consider this as a God-given privilege to honor their parents for all that they have done for them. Please pray for all those who are struggling with health issues in their old age, so that the healing hand of God will be visible, all of them will live in the hope of eternity and be ready to die with the assurance of salvation whenever the Lord would call them.

LET’S PRAY FOR

  • The elderly to use their time well in impacting their next generation by praying and seeking God for the world.
  • All the elderly suffering from health issues, that God’s healing hand will rest upon them.

Day 14: Praying for Families that are struggling due to a Lack of Love

There is so much love in the air for young people, but among those married, for many, love has dried up.  As Gary Chapman says, there is a love tank in all of us. This love tank needs to be full to give love to others. But sadly, this love tank has become empty for many, as they have not received love.

Instead, they have received pain, hard words and abuse. They feel lonely and abandoned. They are not able to love even if they want to. We have seen this so much in our counseling of Families. Many are unable to love their spouse any more, but the real resource of Love is in Jesus. Even when the love tank is empty,  connecting to our Lord, who is the true source of Love, can help the overflow of love.

There are many young people who search for love today. Can we pray for them as well? Let them be satisfied with the cistern of God’s immeasurable love, that they will not be in want or pain. Let God’s love overflow today in all our hearts that God will give the grace to forgive, and become satisfied by the great love displayed for us on the Cross. There is no better lover than Jesus Christ our Lord.

LET’S PRAY FOR

  • Couples who are longing for love from their spouse or children but are not receiving it, pray that God would fill them with His love so that they can love their spouse in spite of not receiving love.
  • Young people to be satisfied from the cistern of God’s love.

 In Jesus’ name, AMEN!

Day 15: Praying for Families that are facing harassment from various sources

There are various kinds of harassment a family could face. Some face harassment because of disputes over property, due to their gender, for choosing to be single, dowry issues, justice issues, relatives…. the list goes on. I remember when a land dispute for my sister’s land made me run helter-skelter without hope from any authority.

Many Families go through these trials without any Hope. Do you know of Families like this? Are you going through it? The Lord who is the God of Justice and the defender of the poor and the oppressed will work out amazing things, if we believe and trust in His mighty power.

Let’s ask the Lord to show His mighty power and deliver people out of such harassment. Let His Name be glorified through that. If there is any sin or injustice from our end, let’s confess that to the Lord as well, as He hears our cry only when we stand in the path of truth and holiness. May His Name be glorified!

LET’S PRAY FOR

  • Families who we know that are facing harassment of any kind.
  • God’s name to be glorified through all the trials that we face.

Day 16: Praying for Families that are hurting due to community conflicts

To divide and rule is Satan’s strategy to disrupt the work of God. Seeing everyone in the image of God has been sadly forgotten by even our Churches. There are caste-based Churches, which is so contrary to the Scripture. The feeling of high caste and low caste is prevalent among Christian Families.

It has divided homes, and hostility has been promoted unconsciously and consciously. Many Families have become victims of these divisions among communities. Superiority claims about a certain community against the other has hurt many Families. It’s time we pray against these divisions.

We are one community in Jesus. He is our Lord and Savior and we all belong to Him. Pray that God will deliver such Families of either inferiority or superiority complex that they suffer. Let the walls of hostility among communities be broken in Jesus Name and let Families experience God’s deliverance as we pray today for such Families.

LET’S PRAY FOR

  • God to break such divisions and barriers among these Families.
  • People suffering due to any kind of discrimination throughout the world.

Day 17: Praying for Families with single parents

In a broken world, while parenting is so difficult, single parenting has increased. God does not desire any child to grow up without both parents. A mother and a father have their own aspects to contribute to the growth of the child. When one parent is missing, that aspect of growth is affected, so single parents do much more work to compensate for both aspects.

I have personally witnessed moms becoming the breadwinner and taking care of all the needs of the children. God bestows grace as He is the God of such victims. They go through loneliness and pain, though it’s often not expressed. Let’s pray this morning for single parents. We do not know what has caused them to become single parents. It can be the death of a spouse or divorce or separation, or one partner away in another country.

The children cared for by one parent also go through their own set of questions and issues. God understands their needs and He is the only solution to these issues. Let’s cry out, for He is the father and mother to such children, and He is the husband of the widows. May the Lord answer unto us!

LET’S PRAY FOR

  • God to fill the gap in these homes, may the children have spiritual dads and moms through His Church.
  • Single parents to find support groups and help to do their parenting in God-honouring ways.

Day 18: Praying for Families with differently abled children

Children with special needs have been on the increase statistically. Many schools have also come up to address such needs. The parents of these children go through a lot of stress and strain.

Their freedom is restricted. Special care has to be given all the time. Many homes neglect their own marriage as they are focused on the children. Some parents have considered the child as a blessing, but there are many who think they have been cursed.

Let’s pray that the child’s sibling will accept them and show love. God will work in special ways for the family to experience His mighty hand to face their situations with gladness and Joy. May His Name be glorified even through their situation!

LET’S PRAY FOR

  • Families of special needs children who need special grace to bring them up, and that they would consider themselves as special parents chosen by God.
  • Family unity, that the situation will not hinder the peace but instead it will become a reason for Families to bond more.

Day 19 Praying for Families that are hurting due to Divorce

Divorce is one of the most painful experiences one can go through. Many are ashamed to face people, some live with a constant question as to why they had to go through this.  People who have become victims of a divorce wonder if they deserve this.

Though this is not an ideal situation for any family, human sin and hardness of human heart does not evade even good people and godly Families. The Lord is most pained by this as marriage is God-given and God-led. So, to see couples separating and children becoming victims of the parents’ hardness is much more painful.

The understanding of God gets affected in the minds of the children because of such a situation. Only God can intervene and be the solution. Let’s pray together for this need!

LET’S PRAY FOR

  • Families that have gone or are going through the pain of divorce.
  • God to heal the wounds, and for God to help the children deal with their emotions as well.

In Jesus’ name, AMEN!

Day 20: Praying for Families with Singles

While some are called to be single, many are called to marry and bless the earth with a godly generation. But living as a single has its own set of challenges, they are vulnerable and easily misunderstood. They need the grace of God to pursue their calling to be single. Similarly, there are many young people who want to get married but are not able to find a suitable alliance.

Some end up making hasty decisions to marry anyone because they become desperate. The Lord, who saw that it was not good for man to be alone, needs to intervene in such situations. Many young people live with extraordinary and sometimes ungodly expectations of marriage and they allow their expectations to dictate against discernment.

Many girls have been waiting for believing boys and vice-versa. May God connect them in His way. May God’s name be glorified through such unions and may Christian homes be built. Whether married or single, let them accomplish His Kingdom purposes by their choice.

LET’S PRAY FOR

  • Young people to discern God’s will and plan in their lives.
  • Mental and cultural barriers to be broken, that we will see many singles seeking marriage find the right partner in the coming year.
  • Those called to be single, may their decision be accepted in society, and may they fulfill His Kingdom purposes through their singlehood.

Day 21: Praying for Families that are struggling with Addiction to Alcohol and Drugs

Alcoholism is a family disease. The entire family will suffer when one becomes an addict. No addict ever imagines he or she will become an addict when they start drinking and experimenting with drugs. Satan makes their pleasures into pain very soon. Many young people are blinded by the enemy and one drug leads to another and similarly, one drink leads to another.

The writer of Hebrews warns us of sin that entangles. This needs the Lord’s intervention, to break the bondage of addiction. Many breadwinners of the family are addicted and the spouse and children bear the brunt of it. We need to persistently pray in faith and seek God and carry the suffering to His presence. Some of them need good rehabilitation, but convincing the addict is not easy and the family members go through helplessness.

Many lose hope in such situations. May God give them the needed hope and may His presence guide them. May the Lord intervene, even as we pray this day for these Families! Let’s believe the Lord will answer unto us as we kneel in prayer.

LET’S PRAY FOR

  • Deliverance for those who are struggling with this addiction, and for good rehabilitation to help them completely overcome their addiction.
  • Families to have a breakthrough in taking the addicts for needed help and that God will give them grace to go through this process with the family member.

Day 22: Praying for Families struggling with Addiction to media gadgets and social networks

In recent times, addiction has moved from substance to digital. Unlike drugs and alcohol which have legal restrictions, gadget and digital addictions are a possibility to all who have a smartphone or even a TV at home.

Hence this addiction has affected all age groups from little kids to the elderly. The small screen is controlling the lives of people even in ministry today. There is research that shows how young people cannot think of a day without their phones and gadgets. So, this is even more serious than drugs and alcohol. It wires a child’s brains differently at a young age, “nomophobia” is a psychiatric disorder due to ‘No Mobiles’. It’s a no mobile phobia.

The digital world has caused lots of virtual relationships and disaster awaits many because of this addiction. So, can we pray for Families and children struggling with their gadgets? If this applies to us, can we pray for ourselves today and our own homes? Husbands, wives, and children are drawn away from each other. Planning a ‘digital detox’ may be helpful. What is to be used for good is being used for evil. May God’s mighty power deliver our Families today! In Jesus Name let’s claim this for us and our household.

LET’S PRAY FOR

  • Anyone we know who is struggling with a Gadget addiction.
  • God to break every bondage that the enemy is bringing in this modern age.
  • Wisdom to use technology for good purposes.

Day 23: Praying for Families facing Parenting challenges 

Parenting is a role and task God has uniquely given to each of us who have children. Parenting is a privilege God has given to human beings which is often mishandled because of various reasons. Parenting is patterning God who is our heavenly Father. God is our model to parent.

The way He deals with us in spite of failures, the way he is firm in saying ‘No’ in spite of weeping and wailing and even fasting, the way He says ‘Yes’ to our prayers, all these reflect God’s heart as a father because He can see the beginning from the end.

So, to handle today’s challenges where the enemy is throwing constant darts against our children, we need more wisdom and grace to handle our children. Prayer is a vital tool which cannot be ignored. Techniques and skills help, but to handle our kids with prayer and wisdom is very important as that keeps the enemy’s darts away from our children.

The prayer of a father and mother is very powerful and impactful. He is our rescuer and He is our Father who will not give us stones when we ask for bread. May the Lord bless our children and our generation to live Godly lives, so that we can share eternity with our household!

LET’S PRAY FOR

  • Parents who are struggling to raise their children.
  • God to help us correct our lives and seek forgiveness for not patterning our Heavenly Father.

Day 24: Praying for Families struggling with Mental Health issues.

Mental health is often ignored in our nation unless it’s really serious and noticeable publicly. Many go through various mental health issues that often do not get treated at the right time. This is because of the fear of being rejected by the community. Suicides that have been reported in the recent past, has pointed to mental depression. Our Shame Culture makes it more difficult.

Hence many Families struggle quietly and in secret. Various mental health conditions often need medical intervention and can be resolved. Though in many cases there is help available, people are unable and unwilling to go to a Psychiatrist. Many go through mental health issues like dementia when they age. There is no one to take care of them and often the spouse goes through more stress in taking care of them.

One elderly man suffering from a mental health issue even shared that he doesn’t feel long life is a blessing from God. He wanted God to take him away. May Jesus be exalted in each of these homes by His powerful presence and intervention!

LET’S PRAY FOR

  • People to get the required care for mental health issues.
  • The ones who are aged and are struggling, that they would experience God’s presence and those who care for them would have the needed grace
  • God’s healing hand on those who are struggling, that there would be a godly intervention in their life.

Day 25: Praying for Families hurting due to wayward children

When clear choices are made by children to disobey and dishonor parents, despite all the good parenting, what can we do? Not all children turn into saints because their parents did a good job. A deliberate choice to go away from the father’s love has been God’s experience with human beings from the Garden of Eden.

So, in such cases, keeping the door open and praying for them is the only option left. Parents sometimes blame themselves in such cases. They feel strongly about their neglect of parenting and live in guilt. Parents cannot blame themselves for the choice the children make. One of the signs of the last days is disobedience to parents.

Let’s pray diligently, that the generation of the righteous will not be destroyed. Pray much for God’s intervention for such Families, that God would give them the needed joy and peace despite their situation. May our prayers for this generation be answered!

LET’S PRAY FOR

  • Parents who need God’s touch and healing as they go through this pain of a wayward child.
  • These children to come to their senses and make a U-turn in their lives.
  • All children to grow up in godly obedience and not be led astray by the attack of the enemy.

Day 26: Praying for Families struggling with Sexual promiscuity

There is an explosion of sex in every sphere that is affecting humans. I would call this a ‘sexplosion’ age. This has become a reality in our homes as well. Children are exposed to sex very early and many begin to experiment. The Church is not exempt from this reality. There are secret college groups and teens who call on each other to satisfy their urges. The internet has promoted instant gratification, but this defiles our body, mind and soul.

This is sin that takes us away from God and propels his wrath. This is very consistently seen in both the Old and New Testament. Let the rooms where our children live experience God’s presence that they will not be tempted in their loneliness to abuse themselves sexually.

Let’s guard our own lives and pray for Godly intervention on all whom we know suffer due to sexual promiscuity. So, pray for God to preserve our generation despite Satan’s strategy and schemes. Let many repent and start a victorious life in Jesus!

LET’S PRAY FOR

  • God’s intervention, that every home will be sanctified, and that the marriage bed would be kept undefiled.
  • God to deliver sexually addicted people in our Churches and homes that we will see a generation that will stand up for godly and pure lives.

Day 27: Praying for Families facing Homelessness

Food, clothing, and shelter are necessities of life. There are millions in our nation whose homes are under the bridge, railway stations and streets. Children are also born there and grow up on the streets. These Families need basic shelter.  The homes need responsible fathers and mothers who can earn and provide.

The Bible talks about Israelites living in tents for 40 years and then the Lord provided houses they did not build, olive groves and vineyards they did not plant and wells they did not dig, to fulfill His promise, but also to compensate for the years in Egypt and the wilderness. They had a pillar of cloud and fire to protect them.

Let’s pray that they would diligently work and provide for their Families. Aren’t these Families worth many sparrows, which have their own home to our heavenly Father? May His hand provide for them! Let God direct us to such people and let Him use His Church for His purposes to be accomplished. Let God place the homeless in Homes for His purposes to be accomplished in them and for His Glory!

LET’S PRAY FOR

  • God’s protection over these Families.
  • The government to care for their needs and for God to provide homes that they desperately need.
  • The church to take up ministry among these families.

Day 28: Praying for Families hurting due to Trauma and accidents

Trauma care is becoming a very popular aspect of psychological studies. Physical trauma and emotional trauma are very real. Families have been facing traumatic situations due to floods, earthquakes, natural disasters, wars, communal riots, etc.

In this season with heightened tension at our borders, it’s pertinent to pray for all our soldiers’ families who are facing the heat of the situation.

I’m sure the spouses and parents of these soldiers are praying for God’s protection and it’s in such moments that we as a body of Christ can pray for these Families. Prayer is the greatest weapon for things to happen and for God’s peace to reign. People need psychological help and intervention to bring them out of their physical loss and emotional pain.

In all these situations, God’s pain needs to be understood. Human failings have brought us to where we are. The God who wanted peace and harmony is pained to see this world in its present state. He hurts with people in pain. So, let’s pray with much pain, joining with the pain of God for His children. God will intervene when we sincerely seek Him!

LET’S PRAY FOR

  • Families going through trauma because of various reasons.
  • Our soldiers’ families who are facing difficult situations.

Day 29: Praying for Families grieving because of Death 

The only incident recorded in the Bible that made Jesus weep is the Death of Lazarus. Death was not in God’s creation mandate. The enemy deceived human beings to believe they will not die if they disobeyed God. Sadly, death entered the human race and a man born will now surely die physically and the grief of death is very real and painful.

We miss the person and the grief is inconsolable and deep. It affects Families in drastic ways, but praise God that Jesus, through His death and resurrection conquered the grave and has given all of us hope to see our loved ones. Jesus is the Resurrection and the life. The pain of death and the grief that it causes is known to God and He understands it.

But we need to move on, to fulfill His purposes. Many don’t know how to let go of their pain. I know a man in New York who walks to his son’s grave every day. He was so absorbed in the memory of his son, that he alienated himself from others and God. He finds refuge in drinking and his wife is so angry and upset with God. Let’s pray for families like these, that the joy of the Lord will become their strength.

LET’S PRAY FOR

  • Families who have experienced physical death of their loved ones and cannot move on with life. They need His grace.
  • The Lord to intervene and give them the hope and peace they need.

Day 30: Praying for Families hurting due to childlessness

Children are indeed a gift from God. But God for some reason known only to Him has withheld children for some couples. This is seen in many Godly couples in the Bible both in the Old Testament and New Testament. So, we know that this is a situation that God has allowed in some people for His own purposes.

But the pain of childlessness is real and God is able to give children either by lovemaking or love choosing. God opened the womb of Sarah and gave a child to Abraham and Sarah, when their physical bodies were considered as good as dead, to fulfill His purpose and promise. Similarly, for Zechariah and Elizabeth, God did a miracle. So, God can make anything happen, if that is in His Will and purpose.

So, let us pray this for all who are longing, that God would have mercy and open the womb for Families to have godly generations. Let’s intercede also for children who are longing for foster/ adoptive parents. Pray that God will connect some of these children to those parents. God is a master orchestrator of many things, so only He can make the impossible happen.

LET’S PRAY FOR

  • God to have mercy to open the womb of many who long to become parents
  • The children who desire a home, that God would connect them to the right parents.

Day 31: Praying for Families going through Crisis in the area of Physical intimacy

Lack of teaching in the area of Physical intimacy from the Bible has given space for so many ungodly perceptions and practices in Christian marriage, which can ruin many marriages. Since this is a taboo subject, many go about this area based on what they have been exposed to, through their friends and culture. Many remember their first night of marriage with dismay because of incorrect orientation.

This needs much prayer and education. Many know the biological side, but not the theological side of this important aspect of marriage. Pray that our Churches will educate young people in this area of relationship with pre and post marriage teaching on Physical intimacy, as some people treat their spouses as sex objects.

Pornography has caused havoc within families. Satan is very dominant in this area and we need to pray against this, so that the covenant of becoming one flesh would be enjoyed in the context of marriage and family!

LET’S PRAY FOR

  • People who are struggling right now, that they will find adequate help through good counselors and be willing to change when met with a Biblical understanding.
  • Good education focused on the area of Physical intimacy to be given to both unmarried and married people.
