National Directors
Dr. P. C. Mathew and his wife Mrs. Ciby Mathew have been engaged in mentoring and reaching many families in India. They are the co-founders and National Executive Directors of Urban India Ministries, an organization committed to transforming cities one home at a time.
Dr. P. C. Mathew did his B. Sc (Physics) from Madras Christian College and his short stint in the IT industry, in obedience to God’s call, he went to serve the Lord in 1992. He did his B.D. from Union Biblical Seminary, Pune, India and later received his doctorate (D. Min) from Asbury Theological Seminary, Kentucky, USA.
Mrs. Ciby Mathew did her B. Sc (PCM) from Jyothi Nivas College and her PG. Dip in Business Administration from St. Joseph’s, Bangalore. She did her B.D from United Biblical Seminary and later received her M.Sc (Psychology) from Madras University.
Being one of the pioneers of family ministry in India, P C and Ciby have traveled extensively across the country and the globe leading family and marriage seminars, and have passionately shared the need for Christian families to become Missional. They make their home in Bangalore and are parents of three boys.
Our Story
Urban India Ministries is the result of a group of friends whose hearts were stirred by the Lord to repair breaches in their homes. What began with their families in 1988 has been evolving into an extending mission that continues to serve families across all gradients of society, specifically the impoverished, urban middle class and the corporate sectors.
We continue to reach over 40 cities irrespective of denomination and affiliations, through various family life educational programmes, workshops, training programmes, counseling, and life skill programmes, media and other printed resources.

To APPLY biblical principles and values for marriages and family.
To ASSIST individuals and communities to face the challenges of urban living
To ADVOCATE sanctity of life and the institution of marriage,
To ALERT the society about the forces that threaten families, among the emerging generation in the cities and surrounding regions by providing resources and working through individuals, local churches schools and colleges, organizations, media, and government.
